This thatched-roof house belonged to the samurai dynasty around Sasayama castle, it was rebuilt after the fire of 1830 occurred in the samurai district. <br />
<br />
This historical thatched-roof house has been passed down from generation-to-generation samurai dynasty however since 2012 no one lives here. Partly abandoned historical thatched roof house.<br />
The Japanese government has been started to financially support and protect the historical buildings nationwide since 1975. under the government project, they provide 80% of the repairing cost.  The thatched -roof restoration cost be about 10 million Japanese yen.  every ten years need to repair the roof and every time cost is huge.<br />
<br />
Under the government supporting project, this thatched-roof house roof renovation has been carried out three-time in 2005, 2014, and 2021.
